At the NWTF, we see freedom in every sunrise over the horizon, in every quiet morning spent in the woods and in every young hunter learning the ways of the land. These moments are only possible because of the men and women in uniform who gave their life for our country. Their sacrifice preserves not just our liberty, but the opportunity to pass on our hunting and conservation heritage to future generations.
Today, we honor those brave Americans who put country before self and paid the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that America’s forests, fields and streams remain places of life, learning and legacy for generations to come.
We ask that you join us this Memorial Day in honoring those who have fallen for our freedoms.

The second check was presented to the WOLF PACK Abbeville Co.

This Saturday, March 28, they will have their annual freezin for a reason to raise funds to provide children across the area with Christmas. Last year they provided over 400 children with toys and clothes during the Christmas season.

If you have time this weekend, head out to the Blue Hole in Calhoun Falls and support this great cause.

On Saturday, March 21 the NWTF SC Foothills Chapter presented two checks to organizations in our area.

The first check was presented to Swayze Veteran Foundation

https://www.swayzeveteranfoundation.org/

The Swayze Veteran Foundation exists to walk alongside veterans and first responders as they navigate life beyond the uniform. Founded by those who understand the toll of service, they are driven by a simple belief: no one should fight their battles alone once the job is done. Through personalized support, strategic programs, and a growing community of peers, they help our nation’s heroes restore purpose, rebuild confidence, and reclaim the life they deserve.

In Honor of TSgt Daniel R. Swaney, 30, U.S. Air Force, was born in Georgia on July 25, 1984, and passed away on May 7, 2015, after battling the unseen wounds of war. Daniel served with distinction across multiple commands in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL. From Shaw AFB and Osan Air Base to Kandahar, Bagram, and Djibouti, he embodied the Air Force values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Daniel helped save countless lives on the battlefield. But like too many of our heroes, he faced a silent battle at home. His memory fuels our mission and reminds us why this work matters. His life and legacy inspire us to build a community that ensures no one is left behind
