Tonight, our student leaders gathered to pray for first-year students and to spend time in worship. We’re so thankful for the upperclassmen that will be investing into our incoming students this year.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” — Hebrews 12:1-2

Meet this year’s alpha leaders! Each first-year student will be placed into an alpha group, a small group of students led by an upperclassman student. Alpha leaders are a vital part of the first year experience at AU, as they support students through their transition to Anderson during the first semester.

First year students, your alpha leaders are already praying for you and are ready to encourage you, support you, and cheer you on as you take your first steps at AU! They can’t wait to meet you!

Congratulations to the South Carolina School of the Arts Conservatory of Music students for their outstanding achievements at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Student Auditions.

We are proud to recognize the students who earned national honors:
Jacob Sabella – First Place, Music Theater Upper Post-High School Tenor, Bass, Baritone Category
D'Andre Hicks – Third Place, Commercial Music Upper Post-High School Tenor, Bass, Baritone Category
Abigail Knight – Third Place, Commercial Music Lower Post-High School Treble Category

“These accomplishments represent an impressive performance on a national platform and reflect positively on the quality of our faculty and students within the Conservatory,” said Jer Nelsen, interim dean of the South Carolina School of the Arts. “It is my hope that these accomplishments can be widely shared and celebrated, as they exemplify the excellence of the South Carolina School of the Arts, Anderson University, and our broader commitment to Great Academics.”

After graduating from Anderson University in 2007 with a degree in business, alumni Josh Cauthen spent 17 years building a career in sales and leadership before helping bring Versible's Tap To Pray products to life. Using simple tap technology, these products connect users to daily Bible verses, prayers, and faith-based resources with just a tap of their smartphone.

"We look at these products as kind of a fire starter... it could be a spark—that starting point to encourage someone to pick up the Bible, get into a small group or build community," stated Josh Cauthen.

We're proud to celebrate Josh as he is combining innovation, business, and faith to make a lasting impact and point others to Christ.

Last Friday marked the final summer session of Base Camp. We have loved hosting our students and their families this summer and look forward to welcoming all first-year students back to campus this fall.

One final session remains on August 20. We’re grateful to our faculty and staff for making this experience possible for our new students and their families.

This summer, Anderson University has been proud to host several Summer Institute Camps, welcoming talented young individuals to our campus for learning and growth. From nursing and cybersecurity to soccer, baseball, and dance, our programs are designed to inspire the next generation of leaders while building community with like-minded Christians.

We have several Summer Institute camps coming up this month, including Repertory Theatre, a three-week camp. Join us in Belk Theater on Friday, July 24 at 7:00 p.m. or Saturday, July 25th at 2:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. for a full-length performance of Seussical the Musical.
