$30 - BUT WHAT ARE YOU ACTUALLY JOINING?

A CBBA membership is $30 for your first year and $15 per year after that.

But a membership card and patch aren't really the point.

You're joining a national network of martial artists.

You're gaining opportunities to train with experienced instructors outside your normal circle.

You're becoming eligible for member benefits at CBBA/SKKI events.

You're gaining access to relationships with Regional Directors, Ambassadors, senior instructors and other members.

And through our martial arts divisions, there are pathways for continued training and advancement.

You are helping to provide opportunities to affect lives through the martial arts ministries that we support.

Most importantly, you're saying:

“I don't just follow this community online. I'm part of it.”

🥋 100 KATA CHALLENGE — KARATE DAY! 🥋
October 25 is Karate Day, and this year CBBA Member and Northeast Regional Director, Mr. Ryan Vella is celebrating by taking on the 100 Kata Challenge!

This challenge is about more than testing endurance, focus, and dedication. He is hoping to use it as an opportunity to raise awareness and support two organizations that are making a difference in the lives of others.

Karate Is Cure - an organization that helps students who may not otherwise be able to afford martial arts training. Their mission helps make the benefits of martial arts—discipline, confidence, character, and community—available to more students.

Christian Martial Arts Missions Association - ministers to widows and orphans in Guatemala and is currently working to expand its ministry to the Philippines.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO WALK THIS JOURNEY ALONE.

There are things about being a Christian martial artist that people outside this world don't always understand.

And there are things about being a martial artist that people outside the martial arts don't always understand.

It's good to have people who understand both.

That's one of the reasons the CBBA exists.

We're school owners, instructors, students, ministry leaders, competitors, traditional martial artists and self-defense practitioners from different parts of the country and different martial traditions.

We don't have to practice the same system to encourage one another.

We don't have to wear the same uniform to pray together.

And we don't have to agree about every martial arts question to share the same Lord.

Sometimes what you're looking for isn't another technique.

It's your people.

WAIT...DO I HAVE TO BE A BLACK BELT?

No.

It's probably one of the most understandable misconceptions about an organization called the Christian Black Belt Association.

But CBBA membership isn't reserved only for black belts.

Our community includes martial artists at different ranks and different stages of their journey. Some train at established CBBA member schools. Some own schools. Some teach in churches or community programs. Others train independently.

What connects us isn't the color around our waist.

It's our faith in Christ and our love for the martial arts.

If you're a Christian martial artist and you've wondered whether there is a place for you here, there probably is.
