State Comvention week has come and gone. Our Conduct of a Chapter meeting team were down a member and still chose to compete. We still managed to have the overall highest individual test score by a participant and I am extremely proud of them, and our Quartet was unable to compete due to a sickness as well. While we may not have ended the competition season the way we hoped I am extremely proud. Our first year together we accomplished so much as a chapter. I’m looking forward to even bigger goals to meet for next school year. Also a shoutout to two of our upcoming officers that came with my son and I to the final day of convention.

We had a great time at the Freshman Expo tonight. A few of our members helped work the booth and helped recruit new students for our program. Excited to see where we will be as a program this time next year.

Our goal for the year was five banners between district and state ( that goal was met today). Looking forward to adding to this years total come June at State Convention. These are the first banners won at Straughn in areas other than String band and Quartet in 11 years.
Big shoutout to Mrs Dean and Mr Weeks for all their help today and for all the work they did in preparing the quartet. We make a great team of three. Glad to be a part of Quartet after all these years away. Great to be a Straughn Tiger!

Some more pictures from Ag Day on the Hill. Gonna have to talk to our photographer. Bloopers are apparently the specialty.

Students got to take part stocking grass carp and fathead minnows. The carp will assist in reducing the amount of grass and the minnows will help in feeding our bass to reduce the stress on our other species as we try to balance out the pond.

Students got to take part in adding 8 tons of lime to the school pond. Learning about the benefits of a healthy system and pond management. Today students are getting to do a little fishing to help balance the ratio. Tomorrow we will be adding a few grass carp and some fathead minnows. Education can take on different forms but learning is still taking place. Blessed to be able to do what I do
