In our first two meets it became readily apparent that this is a spirited and bonded team coming out of the gates. Athletes supported each other and honored their opponents with strong swims and not a few cheers for their competitors. This team is zany and fast - Let’s go Wolves!
Noticed in the first two meets:
Missed: Our Senior Captain, Caitlyn, has been under the weather. We send our best wishes and high hopes that she will be back with us soon as she is well. We need you Caitlyn!
Achieved Best Times (a rare thing this early in the season!): Drew, Nyle, Andrew, Brock, Evan, Theodore, Noah
Got the Duckie (First Place Finishes): Matthew x 4, Lelaina x 4, Khalyse, Andrew, Audrey L x 2, Keira x 4, Nate x 3, Zachary, Anna x 2, Evan x 2, Traci, Theo x 2, CJ,
Relay Magic: ERHS has won 5 out of 6 relay events in the first two meets. Notably, the boys Medley, broken into two competing relays, achieved times within a half second and two seconds of last year’s team at state.
Most exciting PR Race: Andrew and Noah duked out out to push under 24 seconds for the first time in a burner that ended in a tie and lots of happy splashing.
Welcome Back! We are happy to have Wyatt Keene back in the fold after a three year absence.
Congratulations to Phoenix Pauli for participating in his first ever meets and throwing down some pretty darn good baseline performances. It will be a blast to watch him grow.
Breaststroke Power: Never has ERHS had such a collection of competitive breaststrokers. Kudos to (under 1:10: Evan, Nate, Laina, Noah, Matthew, Andrew, and CJ; (and under 1:20: Khalyse, Megyn, Caitlyn, Anna, Audrey T, Colin and Nyle; for rising in this most technical of events.
Rock the House Moment! The team cheering on South’s lone breaststroker. He was pushed through the back half by sonic waves.
These are just a few things that have made us proud the first two meets. Of course there were many more, and surely some that I have missed so if you would like to share a plus, please just add it in the comments.
