Chugiak v Eagle River at Chugiak
We had a GREAT kick start to the high school season last night with a double victory over our friends at Chugiak High.
Scores: Girls: ERHS 134 - CHS 28; Boys ERHS 87 - CHS 82 Whew!
Noticed:
Last, first meet for our seniors: Sasha, Bryn, Sophia and Reese.
First, first meet for our large and talented freshman team: Brock, Andrew, Anna, Zachary, Megyn, Audrey L, Colin, Audrey and, Everleigh
Back in the Saddle: Recovering from and working through injury is a long and challenging process. After many months away Bryn and Keira stepped up with some solid swims to start the season. Way to go Bryn and Keira!
Race of the Evening: Our most exciting race of the evening came in the 500 free with our freshman energy bundle, Colin, only JUST outpacing Luke from Chugiak by less than .5. Both boys broke the 5:20 barrier for the first time. Expect more great races from these two!
You’ve come a long way! Congrats to Everliegh who only started swimming a couple of months ago, and Jedd who is a wrestler stepping into swim competition for the first time. Everleigh swam a very respectable 34 in her first 50 and completed a legal 100 breast (always a challenge for new swimmers).
Achieving Personal Records: (Always very challenging in early high school meets, just ask a senior!): Theodore (200 IM & 100 Back), Zachary Jacobs (200 IM & 500 Free), Megyn Linstid (50 free & 100 Breast), Andrew Deisseroth (50 free), Noah Unks (100 fly & 100 breast), Andy King (100 Fly), Drew Richmond (100 free), Colin Russian (500 free), Jillian DelaCruz (100 breast),
Biggest Drop: Zachary Jacobs shedding 11 seconds in the IM and nearly 30 in the 500.
Next Week - The Big 8
