Reports to: Director

Hours of Work:
Fall Hours: 35 hours / 8:30-2:30 Monday- Friday
(Summer hours vary: 20-25 hours/ 8:30-2:30 T/W/TH)

Job Summary:
The Preschool Teacher will work with the Board, Director and parents to create a safe, positive and accepting environment where families and children learn together.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Plan and execute a developmentally appropriate program for the children, incorporating our traditions, philosophy and policies.

Maintain a welcoming, child-centered, developmentally appropriate classroom at all times.

Know the emergency procedures. Practice and document monthly.

Communicate regularly with parents about the learning objectives that children will practice while engaging the curriculum.

Demonstrate, recognize, and encourage positive social behavior among children and adult workers (such as cooperation, problem solving, taking turns and sharing).

Understand the content of the Handbook, including parent job structure/responsibilities.

Attend Board of Director meetings as a non-voting member.

Qualifications:
5yrs. Early childhood teaching experience
At least 12 early childhood credit hours
(AA or BA in ECE preferred)
Current pediatric first aid and CPR card
Four positive written references
Positive background check
Working knowledge of Child Care Licensing rules and regulations
Completion of training hours as required by Child Care Licensing

The Assistant Preschool Teacher will work with the Lead Teacher, Director and parents to create a safe, positive and accepting environment where families and children learn together.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist in the educational, social and emotional development of children under the direction and guidance of the lead teacher.

Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.

Provide support for individual students to enable them to fully participate in activities.

Foster developmentally appropriate independence in children.

Maintain a welcoming, child-centered, developmentally appropriate classroom.

Encourage positive social behavior among children, such as cooperation, problem solving, taking turns and sharing.

Emphasize the importance of safety and well-being.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Early childhood teaching experience
Current pediatric first aid and CPR card
Three positive written references
Positive background check
Mandated Reporter training certificate
Better Kid Care certificate

We've been camping here at ACP. We have had so much fun discovering the different ways we can use marshmallow and using our imaginations to explore the great outdoors.
