Due to extreme wind conditions, we have multiple schools without power across town.

We are actively in contact with utility providers and monitoring outages in Anchorage and surrounding areas.

The district will make a decision later tonight if any schools will be closed tomorrow due to known power outages.

Any additional closures due to loss of power will be updated and messaged out.

Aurora Elementary will be closed today, Monday, December 15th, due to a power outage.

Update—12/14/25—9:30pm
All schools will be open tomorrow, Monday December 15th.

Our operations team will be monitoring the situation overnight. If anything changes, we will notify you.

Our first Turnagain Elementary School PTA meeting last night was a huge success! Thank you to all the families that came out to share your idea's, support our students, and double thanks to all our School staff who stayed late for making it a huge success!

Our PTA generally holds monthly meetings the second Tuesday of each month (excluding holidays, etc) - so please mark your calendar for our next meeting on October 14, 2025 at 530pm in the school library!

Come share your ideas and hear about plans for this school year to support our kids at Lake Hood Elementary! Join us for our first PTA meeting of the year this Tuesday, September 9th at 5:30 pm in the school library or attend virtually on zoom (a link will be made available on our page). Hope to see you there!!

Beginning August 2025, 13 more schools will join the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program - meaning free breakfast and lunch for all students, every day.
