🎉Please join us in congratulating Natalie Van Hatten on her promotion to Program Manager for the Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC)'s After School Program, overseeing the cultural and educational growth of Anchorage-based Indigenous youth.
Natalie Van Hatten is Iñupiaq from Shaktoolik, Alaska. She received her AA in Human Services and BA in Rural Development for Health and Human Services Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She first started with the Alaska Native Heritage Center as the Unguwat Program Coordinator in March of 2025, where she worked to develop and teach quality cultural activities for both young adults and the Elders Program. Natalie’s varied experience in prevention and teaching cultural activities make her a great fit for this new role.

Alaska Pacific University (APU) invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Liberal Studies with a focus on teaching ethics, critical thinking, logic and epistemology. There may be opportunities for teaching and course development in other Liberal Studies programs including writing, literature, communication and Indigenous studies.
QUALIFICATIONS: Earned graduate degree in a relevant field including philosophy, interdisciplinary studies, or Indigenous studies, and higher education teaching experience. Firsthand knowledge of the Alaskan context and experience working with Indigenous communities is preferred.

The Norton Sound Health Corporation CAMP Department is now recruiting for the Summercise Program in Nome, Alaska. For over 20 years, this internship focuses on community and public health, diabetes prevention, pediatric nutrition, and nutrition programming and has afforded students the opportunity for mentorship from dietitians on staff and hands on experience in rotations such as clinical, food service, and outpatient nutrition counseling and biometric screenings. All expenses are covered! Interns also receive a stipend for food expenses.
