With one week left until graduation, we are honored to celebrate the incredible Polaris Class of 2026.
Today, we’re sharing a full spotlight of our seniors—their stories, their accomplishments, and the impact they’ve had on our school community. Each student has taken a unique path, and together, they represent the heart of what it means to be a Polarian.
This year’s class of 33 graduates has so much to be proud of:
🎓 15 students will be graduating with honors.
🎓 7 will be graduating as Polaris Scholars—recognized for their academic achievement, community engagement, and commitment to personal excellence
🎓 2 students will be honored for their dedication to leadership within our school community
🎓 3 students will earn our new Polaris Music Endorsement, for their sustained commitment and excellence in the musical arts
🎓 1 student has earned the Seal of Biliteracy, demonstrating proficiency in English and at least one additional world language
🎓 And 13 students, who have been Polarians from K/1, will walk our halls one last time.
We invite you to take some time to read through their stories, reflect on their journeys, and celebrate these amazing individuals with us. We couldn’t be more proud of who they are and all they are about to become.
Once a Polaris Wolf, always a Polaris Wolf 💚

Polaris Senior, Baylor Wasson, is being celebrated this week for leading his West High football team to another victory this week over East High. Baylor threw for two touchdowns and rushed in another himself for a 20-0 win! To honor these big game moves, Sports Illustrated has nominated him for Alaska Player of the Week-- Let's help him secure another victory with this recognition by casting your vote: https://www.si.com/high-school/alaska/vote-who-is-the-alaska-high-school-football-player-of-the-week-sept-17-2025-01k4rbg52dx8
Good luck, Baylor!

Polaris is a wonderful place to be-- that's for sure! Thank you, Christian, for bringing such an amazing opportunity to our students!
My life-long friend, Christian, is a teacher at Polaris. He has pushed for and implemented Skateboard Intensives for his students. For two weeks they just skate at school all day. They learn about skating, watch videos, and dive into the whole world of it all. Today I went and skated with them, talked to the students, and brought them some product (because getting free stuff is the best). Rad kids, rad teacher, and rad school for having this type of program.
I met Christian around 1990/91 when there were only a handful of skaters in Eagle River. We spent years of our life on the curb behind the movie theatre and on weekend bus trips to skate Anchorage. It’s a testament to skateboarding’s effects, and his great heart, that he continues to open the door to skateboarding for students. I was lucky to have a shop teacher, Don Bernard, who would let me build boxes in his class and skate in the woodshop during lunch. It just takes one or two people to give you a shot, to take a chance on letting you follow your path to change a life. Thank you Christian, Mr Bernard, and all the other teachers that know school is about helping kids find themselves and their path. And thank you for letting me be a part of your group 🤙🏻

Welcome Back, Wolves!!
What an incredible first day of school we had here at Polaris-- The energy was truly captivating!
Our elementary students dive right in with their family groups; establishing their communities, getting to know each other, and laying a strong foundation for what will certainly be a wonderful school year.
Our secondary students launched the year in their Fall Intensives, providing a unique opportunity to ease into the year in a course of that either speaks to their individual interests, or provides them with an opportunity to gather important information, skills, and resources that will help them succeed in middle or high school.
Days like today truly capture the pride and power of being a Wolf-- and more days just like this one are right on the horizon!
To a wonderful school year!!! 🐾

They did it, Polaris! 22 graduates will walk across the stage in just a few hours and we are so incredibly proud of them. We celebrated this morning with in a truly Polaris way by parading our Seniors around the building, led by our kinders. This unique tradition of ours symbolizes the journey these individuals have been on for the past 13 years. Videos from the parade are posted in the comments 😊
Congratulations to the class of 2025!

Can you believe we are just three school days (including today) away from summer?!?
We can't think of a better way to celebrate than by highlighting a truly once-in-a-lifetime intensive. 10 students, 2 staff, and a Polaris Alumni just returned from a 2 week kayak experience in the remote wilderness of Glacier Bay National Park! This expedition intensive emphasized hands-on learning and the application of real life survival skills. We are happy to report that all made it back safely with smiles on their faces and memories to cherish for the rest of their lives.
What a beautiful reminder of the opportunities this program provides to our students.
