🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

You may have heard about the increased volcanic activity at Mount Spurr, located roughly 75 miles west of Anchorage. Based on current observations, scientists believe an eruption could occur within weeks or months.

Should an eruption take place, Bright Beginnings will immediately coordinate with municipal and state officials to determine the best course of action, in accordance with our All Hazard Preparedness Plan (attached). Depending on the time of day, size of the eruption, and anticipated weather pattern related to any ash fall, potential responses may include school cancellations, early dismissal, or shelter-in-place protocols.

While it is impossible to predict the exact timing or impact of an eruption, we want to assure you that we are actively monitoring the situation and communicating regularly with municipal and state officials. We are also ensuring that our school has the necessary emergency supplies and plans in place should they be needed. We will provide timely updates as needed.

In the event of an emergency, we will use our mass communication system to send text messages and emails to families. Updates will also be posted on our page.

Bright Beginnings ELC will be closed on March 13 and 14 as our team participates in a Conscious Discipline training to enhance our ability to support your child’s emotional and social growth. This training will help us strengthen skills in:

We have a some major state child care news to share with you and an ask for your help. 👇

$7.725M for Child Care Grants has been added to the House Operating Budget! 🙌 The House Budget Subcommittee for the Department of Health added the funding into their final version of the department's budget. It now goes to the full House Finance Committee for the next step of the budget process.

Now ✨we need your help✨ to keep this funding and other critical funding for kids in the budget. Take a moment to submit a comment to the House Finance Committee and urge them to protect child care funding! The deadline for written testimony is March 14, 2025.
