Smell that?👃 Spring is in the air! 🌱 Our puffy jackets, snow boots, and winter gear are being phased out for the season - that gear includes studded tires. When they need to come off all depends on your latitude! There are different rules for north & south of 60 North Latitude.
🚙 NORTH of 60: studded tires are allowed Sept. 16-April 30
🚗SOUTH of 60: studded tires are allowed Oct. 1-April 14

drivers: Municipality of Anchorage changed their ordinance to not allow studded tires within Anchorage city limits until Oct. 1. State law differs, allowing studded tires north of 60 Latitude on Sept. 16. However, Anchorage Police officers can ticket a motorist with studded tires if they are within the city limits. Studded tires are allowed outside of Anchorage city limits (north of 60 Latitude) on Sept. 16.The MOA ordinance is 19-13.
