Our this week is a double graduate of UAA: Chad Ringler!
Ringler started with a 2001 B.A. in Biological Sciences, then came back in 2014 for his B.S. in Civil Engineering. Today, Chad owns and operates Brewerks, a craft brewery in midtown Anchorage. Brewerks will host our alumni social next Thursday, June 4th, from 5-7 p.m., and we're so excited to meet with graduates and friends at an alumni-owned business! Did you decorate your cap for commencement?
We know it's been almost three weeks since commencement, but we can't stop thinking about the beautiful caps we saw! Our grads work so hard to earn their degrees, but a lot of them still take the time to decorate their caps before walking across the stage at commencement. These caps reflect the unique journeys of each graduate. Congrats again to our latest group of graduates!

Bonus points if you can name which building this picture was taken in!
Commencement for nursing graduates in the 70s looked a little bit different than today's commencement ceremonies, but these graduates worked just as hard for their degrees. No matter how long it's been since graduating, we never get tired of celebrating Seawolf alumni!

What kind of impact does the University of Alaska (UA) system really have on the community? We're so glad you asked!
In short, the UA system has been training students to enter Alaska's workforce in essential fields like health care, skilled trades, education and public service for decades. A 2025 report showed that 82.2% of UA graduates were employed in Alaska within one year of graduating, showing that many of our graduates are choosing to stay in state to put their valuable skills to use. Supporting the UA system means supporting Alaska's worforce. Read more here: heyor.ca/huLnzE

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!!!! Look at these proud new alumni!
We had SO much fun helping with commencement this weekend, and we never get tired of absorbing the excitement of these hardworking graduates. Before walking across the stage, they had the chance to mingle with Alumni Association board members, nibble on delicious snacks, and take photos against our UAA backdrop.
