Laborers Local 341

Laborers Local 341 Unions, which are non profit organizations, support our community thru charitable activities, such as United Way campaigns and sponsoring youth sports teams.

Unions promote education thru apprenticeship programs, scholarships, and re-imbursement for continuing education. If there is a way to improve the lives of our members we want to be involved!

Labor (or Labour) Day weekend is a time to celebrate the hard work and solidarity of working people, and we want every brother and sister to enjoy it safely.

If your plans include drinking, make your plan for getting home before the celebration starts. Designate a sober driver, call a ride, or arrange to stay somewhere safe. Never get behind the wheel impaired, and never let a friend or fellow Laborer do it either.

We look out for each other on the job, and that same solidarity matters off the clock. Celebrate responsibly, watch out for your brothers and sisters, and make sure everyone gets home safely.

Have a safe and happy weekend!

Building the pipeline that transformed Alaska took years, thousands of workers, and one of the largest labor mobilizations in state history.

Pipefitters. Operating engineers. Teamsters. Electricians. Laborers. Nearly every trade had a hand in it, and every worker was union.

That's not just how TAPS got built. It's how Alaska's labor movement built its strength. Union crews finished the job to a standard that's still holding up 49 years later, and they earned fair union wages doing it.

This is what Alaska has always been about.

To kick off Labor Month, we look back at the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, one of the biggest union-built projects in state history and still shaping Alaska’s workforce today.

More than just a project to move oil, TAPS moved Alaska’s labor movement forward.

Construction began in 1974 and brought tens of thousands of union tradespeople to the state. Alaska’s union density has been among the highest in the country ever since.

TAPS turns 50 next year. Get ready, as we’ll be celebrating all year long. 🎉

“Mental health has always been part of worker safety—it just hasn’t always been treated that way. LEAN LIUNA is our commitment to changing that and to making sure that every Laborer knows LIUNA has their back, not just on the jobsite but in every aspect of their life,” reflected LHSFNA Executive Director Lisa M. Sabitoni. Click the link for more: https://lhsfna.org/mental-health-is-a-labor-issue-and-lean-liuna-is-taking-it-on/
