Anchorage, thank you for supporting our schools. Voters decided to pass the bond, which means numerous buildings in our school district can receive the upgrades, repairs, and maintenance they need. 10,000 students in the district will be safer and have access to higher quality facilities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this bond successful. Our kids deserve it!

The Anchorage business community has something to gain from well-maintained schools. Communities with good schools draw in more families. That means more customers, and more folks who can work in those businesses.

OPINION: The Anchorage school bond makes economic sense While our jobs may not all look the same, our belief that there is no better investment than our schools is unanimous.

Frustrated about what's happening in Juneau? The thing that is fully within our control -- the thing that we can do today -- is to vote YES on the Anchorage School Bond.

Yes, the school bond is separate from baseline school funding. It funds only infrastructure projects -- the most urgent safety repairs in schools across Anchorage, including fixing failing roofs and making school entrances more secure.

Voting Yes sends a loud and clear message: Anchorage supports our schools, and Anchorage supports our students.

Chugiak High School is in serious need of renovations including a roof repair to stabilize the building. The current roof leaks, and the type of roof they have is expensive to maintain. Seismic structural upgrades are also necessary.
