The UAA Geological Sciences-ConocoPhillips Spring Seminar Series will host this Thursday, February 8th, at 4:00 PM online and in person our very own Department Chair, Dr. Jennifer Aschoff!

The UAA Geological Sciences-ConocoPhillips Spring Seminar Series is back!

This Thursday, February 1, at 4:00 PM online and in person, we will be featuring Dr. Margaret Rudolf, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the International Arctic Research Center at UAF. Dr Rudolf will be sharing with us a primer on the co-production of knowledge. Co-production is the involvement of multiple stakeholders working together to create a shared data product.

JOB DESCRIPTION: GeoTech Assistant
16-24 hours per week at $25.00 per hour

The duties and responsibilities of this position will be to work under close supervision with the Alaska GeoTech staff and carry out general data management processes. This position requires proactive learning of record types, data formats, technical data entry terminology, procedures and standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Receiving and managing incoming data in hard copy (physical well logs) and electronic form (discs with digital copies of data) from service companies, partners, government agencies, and
various internal sources.
• Acknowledge receipt of data by signing transmittals retaining a copy and sending a scanned copy back to the originators. Distribute well data and information, both internally and
externally.
• Prepare transmittals for auditing and tracking distribution to external recipients.
• Responsible for tracking and follow up of transmittals for all records/data transferred. Data and records are filed on file servers, physical filing systems and/or sent to the off-site storage
facility.
• May be requested to perform other administrative tasks, copying, printing, research information, retrieve records, duplicate items and distribute in a timely manner.
• Responsible for controlled circulation and duplication of requested well data and filing of returned items as needed.
• Loading data to geoscience applications such as wells, logs, production, and perforations.

Desired Skills:
• Competently use Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Excellent oral/written communication.
• Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
• Works well in a team environment and able to prioritize/complete assigned tasks with minimum
supervision.
• Experience or working knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry would be an advantage.
