Our telecom apprenticeship program pairs hands-on classroom work with on-the-job training at companies like Alaska Communications and MTA. Our apprentices have a job upon graduation in a rewarding career helping build the internet in Alaska. This work is in high demand and can positively change the lives of so many people in our state.

Meet Charlee, Dustin, Amanda and Gus.
They’re all apprentices working with MTA and Alaska Communications. That means they’re part of our specialized training program that is teaching them the skills of the telecom trade.

Their work includes:
• Installing communications equipment in the fields of line construction, sometimes at heights
•Splicing of fiber and cables
• Installation and repair of residential and commercial equipment

When they graduate from the apprenticeship program, they’ll launch their telecom careers in jobs that pay $90,000+ with benefits.
