ATTENTION ANYONE WHO IS AN APPRENTICE or considering apprenticing in the beauty industry in Alaska:

Please be advised that in accordance with the statutes of postsecondary education (AS 14.48.030 and 12 AAC 17.015), a shop owner may not charge the apprentice a fee to receive training. If a shop owner charges the apprentice a fee for apprenticing, that shop owner may be acting as a school which requires authorization from postsecondary education.

Shop owners may be required to pay apprentices an hourly wage; the Board defers to Dept. of Labor, Wage and Hour section for this. For information, contact the Wage and Hour section in the Department of Labor, in Anchorage at (907) 269-4900.

Sigel just bought me the Ultimate Yogurt Maker and WOW! This is the best yogurt I have ever had! Smooth and creamy! I used 1 part whole milk to 1 part heavy cream. This is going to make our morning ritual even more amazing!
