Honoring a Martial Arts Legend
Today, we take a moment at Okamoto’s Karate to honor a true icon—Chuck Norris.
For many of us, he wasn’t just a movie star—he was a pioneer who helped bring martial arts into homes across America. His discipline, strength, and unwavering character set a standard that generations of martial artists continue to strive for.
At our dojo, we see his influence every day.
In every student who bows with respect.
In every class where perseverance is tested.
In every black belt who leads with integrity.
Chuck Norris showed the world that martial arts is more than fighting—it’s about character, humility, and lifelong growth.
We carry those same values forward here in Alaska, building stronger individuals and a stronger community—one class at a time.
Legends never fade. They live on in the spirit of those they inspire!

🎉 Celebrating 42 Years of Okamoto’s Karate 🎉
This year marks the 42nd anniversary of Okamoto’s Karate, and we are filled with deep gratitude and pride.
For over four decades, thousands of students, families, and supporters have walked through our doors, trusted us with their growth, and become part of our extended karate family. Your commitment, encouragement, and belief in what we do have made this journey possible.
From the first white belt to every black belt earned, from early morning classes to lifelong friendships—you are the reason Okamoto’s Karate continues to thrive. Together, we have built more than a school; we have built a community rooted in discipline, respect, confidence, and perseverance.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way—past and present. We are honored to share this milestone with you and look forward to continuing the journey for generations to come.
Heartfelt thanks for 42 incredible years! 🥋🙏
