This scholarship is now open. What a rare opportunity. The scholarship is not based on income and the application only has ~7 questions. I wish I had a scholarship when my 4 kids with dyslexia needed early intervention the most. Early!
Our center is offering a partial scholarship to our school year program. This scholarship is for 1st and 2nd graders and will open soon! Early intervention is critical for students with difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, and learning disabilities such as dyslexia.

Recently we shared some memes on accuracy and had questions about various accuracy rates. In order to ring home the concern about goals written to 80% accuracy (or less - ugh!), we decided a graphic would really help people visualize what this means. This is one paragraph from George Orwell's 1984. The accuracy issues speak for itself.
Oh, and for the record, accuracy isn't just about if the word was read quickly or 100% spot on if the reader didn't comprehend the word, or know how to access the meaning of the word. Just sayin'.

Tomorrow is the last day to support IDA Alaska and participate in the Virtual Dyslexia Dash! (Sign-up link below)
Here are some great photos from the meet-up last week! While the dashers were going along the Coastal Trail, we had lots of visitors to our finish line table asking about what we were doing and had great discussions about IDA, dyslexia warning signs, early intervention, and the Science of Reading.
Special thanks to Kat's Epic Trail Bites for the fabulous treats at the end! So many people commented on how good the flavors are and they will be seeking them for their next adventure!!
Also, thanks to Miss Alaska For America Strong, Mary Mitchell, who came out to run and support IDA Alaska.
