The Alaska Association of Independent Schools is a cooperative effort of numerous independent schools of the greater Anchorage community, seeking to educate and inform parents of the many excellent options that exist beyond the government-run public school system. Independent schools have a freedom that enables them to be uniquely responsive to the needs and interests of their particular school fa

milies, providing environments and educational programs that can partner with parents in very special and life-changing ways. Very little that a parent decides for their child has a more powerful impact on their growth, development, and preparation for a successful and meaning-filled future than the choice of a school. AAIS seeks to provide parents with the information they need to make an effective and informed choice.
