Did you know you can submit a "Chin'an" ("thank you" in Upper Cook Inlet Dena'ina) as a way to recognize ASD employees? The thank you is sent to the employee and their supervisor and could get shared on the ASD website. As the end of the year and staff appreciation week approach, this would be a great time to send an official Chin'an to our amazing staff members!

What about students who will be in Kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year?
This process is slightly different. Families of incoming Kindergarten students should begin by following the pre-enrollment process, which is open now through May 29 then will re-open July 15.

Coming Soon! Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment Opens April 23, 2026
Starting kindergarten is a big milestone!
That’s why the Anchorage School District (ASD) is inviting families to take the first step through the ASD Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment process, open April 23 through May 29, then again July 15.
Is my student old enough to start kindergarten in 2026?
Pre-Enrollment will open for students born September 2, 2020 through Sept 1, 2021 for the 2026–2027 school year.
Pre-enrollment is a simple way to get started early so your family is prepared, connected, and ready to go.
Visit the ASD Kindergarten Pre-Enrollment site to learn more about required documents you’ll need to have ready to begin the process once pre-enrollment begins.

📢PTA Officer Opportunity!📢
At our April 14 meeting, we will be electing the board position of PTA Treasurer. The Treasurer is the custodian for all the funds of the PTA and ensures all checks are signed by two (2) authorized signatories (usually the Treasurer and President). This position also collects and maintains a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures in books (physical and Quickbooks) belonging to the PTA and presents a written financial report at every membership meeting of the PTA. The Treasurer conducts an annual audit with the help of a few volunteers and keeps the organization up to date with all the business registrations, insurance and tax filings. If you are interested in this position, please email [email protected]!
📢PTA Officer Opportunity!📢
We have an optional (not required in our by-laws) PTA role up for election that has not been filled for the last several years. It is called the PTA Historian and is completely up to the officer to define. If you are interested in "dipping your toe" into PTA without obligation, this is a great role for you! If you have any questions, please email the board at [email protected]!
