📣 We’re Hiring: Commercial Driving & Transportation Safety Instructor – Anchorage

The Alaska Teamster‑Employer Service Training Trust (ATESTT) is expanding our Anchorage training team and hiring a full‑time instructor to help prepare Alaska’s next generation of safe, skilled commercial drivers and Teamster transportation professionals.

📍 Position Details
• Primary location: Anchorage
• Training conducted: Anchorage & Mat‑Su Valley
• Occasional travel: Fairbanks training center
• Schedule: Salary position ($75k+benefits), primarily a 4/10 workweek
• On‑boarding begins in March
• Applicants must be Alaska residents

🛠️ What You’ll Teach
This role provides instruction across CDL, Teamster‑operated vehicles, and transportation safety programs, including:
• Classroom, range, and road CDL instruction
• Road skills testing (after becoming a licensed CDL instructor)
• Operation and skills training on Teamster‑operated commercial vehicles such as lowboy, flatbed, side‑dump trailer, stringer trailer, articulated end dump, and water truck
• Load securement and functional driving skills
• OSHA‑related safety courses including forklift, First Aid/CPR, Traffic Control Flagger, and HazMat
• Daily student evaluations and coaching
• Support for training center operations and vehicle readiness

✔️ Minimum Requirements
• Alaska resident
• Class A CDL held for at least 3 years
• 3 years CDL‑A driving experience within the last 7 years
• Ability to meet State of Alaska DMV instructor requirements
• Clean MVR, background check, and DOT physical
• No prior DOT drug/alcohol violations
• HS diploma or GED

Preferred: Teaching experience and construction driver experience.
