🚛 CEE Shoutout!
Congratulations to our recent CDL A graduates for successfully completing the 6-Week Basic Driver Training in Anchorage and Fairbanks!
These dedicated trainees have put in the miles—literally and figuratively—and are now stepping into their next chapter as Teamster Construction Drivers. 💪
Their journey continues at the Fairbanks Pipeline Training, where they’ll train side-by-side with fellow apprentices and Alaska’s core trades—Teamsters, Fitters, Operators, and Laborers—prepping for the winter work season and learning how each craft contributes to building Alaska’s infrastructure.
We’re proud to be part of their path and can’t wait to see them thrive in the field.
📸 Stay tuned for updates from Fairbanks!

🚗 Reminder for Alaskan Drivers! 🚗
Today, Wednesday, April 30, is the final day to change over your studded tires. Driving with studded tires after today could result in a citation, so don’t get caught with them still on!
Beyond the rules, studded tires can cause serious damage to dry pavement. Let’s all do our part to keep Alaska’s roads in top shape by switching out those tires.
Check your vehicle, make the swap, and drive safe! 🛞

🚧 National Work Zone Awareness Week may be ending, but safety never stops! 🚧
Every time you approach a work zone, remember the lives at stake—workers, drivers, and passengers.
🔸 Slow down.
🔸 Stay alert.
🔸 Respect the zone.
Alaska’s road crews work hard to keep our highways safe—let’s do our part to ensure everyone gets home safely.
💬 Tell us: What’s one thing you do to stay safe in work zones?

🚗 Did you know? 🚗
🔹 In 2022, more than 800 people lost their lives in work zone crashes.
🔹 Most fatalities are drivers and passengers—not workers.
🔹 Speeding and distractions are the leading causes of work zone accidents.
Alaska’s road crews work in challenging conditions to keep our highways safe. Let’s protect them by slowing down, staying focused, and following posted signs.
💡 Tip: Never change lanes in a work zone—it’s dangerous for everyone!

🧡 It’s GO ORANGE DAY! 🧡
Today, we wear orange to honor the hardworking men and women who risk their lives in work zones every day.
In Alaska, road construction is essential for safe travel, especially as we transition into summer. Let’s show our support by wearing orange and spreading awareness!
📸 Snap a pic in orange and tag us!
🚗 Reminder: Slow down and stay alert in work zones—it saves lives.

From April 21-25, we’re reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert, and respect work zones to protect road workers and fellow motorists.
Alaska’s road crews work tirelessly to keep our highways safe, even in extreme conditions. Let’s do our part—reduce speed, eliminate distractions, and drive cautiously through work zones.
🔸 Theme for 2025: Respect the zone so we all get home.

Respect the Zone so we ALL get home!
This year's National Work Zone Awareness Week kicked off today through April 25.
Statistics from the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse show there were 821 fatal crashes in work zones resulting in 891 deaths in 2022. In addition, 94 roadway workers were killed in work zones. The vast majority of people killed in work
zones were motorists, passengers and pedestrians. Those statistics demonstrate the importance of work zone safety and participating in NWZAW to spread the message that everyone plays a role in getting roadway workers home safely.
As part of NWZAW, everyone is encouraged to participate in Go Orange Day on April 23 and to observe a moment of silence on April 25 for people killed in work zone incidents.
