Cama’i. We observe Chenega Day tomorrow, March 27, and share this flyer in remembrance with the Chenega community.

This day marks the anniversary of the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake, which devastated the original village of Chenega. We remember the lives lost and honor the strength of the families who carried Chenega forward, preserving their stories, culture, and traditions across generations.

Chenega Day is a time for reflection, remembrance, and honoring resilience. Memory eternal.

Cama'i! Chugachmiut will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of Presidents Day. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Jan Vanderpool, Executive Director, has approved the early closure of Chugachmiut offices and clinics on Friday, Feb. 13, at 3:30 p.m. For clinical staff and Village Public Safety Officers (VPSOs): Please follow the on-call emergency procedures during early closures and holidays.
