🔧 Big shoutout to everyone who participated in our recent Plumbing & HVAC training in Anchorage in partnership with UA Local 367 Plumbers & Steamfitters! 👏

Participants gained hands-on experience with:
🛠️ Soldering pipes
🛠️ Installing PEX fittings
🛠️ Threading pipe
🛠️ Setting plumbing fixtures

The training also introduced students to key HVAC concepts, including:
❄️ Basic refrigeration cycles
🔥 Boilers & boiler maintenance
⚡ Low-voltage heating control systems

Looking to build your construction safety skills? Alaska Works Partnership is offering a FREE Scaffold User/Fall Protection training in Anchorage focused on OSHA standards, hazard awareness, scaffold safety, and fall protection requirements.

📚 Training Topics Include:
✔ Correct procedures for erecting, disassembling, moving, operating, maintaining, and inspecting scaffold
✔ Proper use and handling of materials on scaffold
✔ Fall protection and falling object protection
✔ Associated personal protective equipment (PPE)

Today marks 30 years of helping Alaskans build strong futures in the construction trades.

Founded in 1996 by Alaska’s Building and Construction Trades, we’ve connected thousands of individuals from more than 140 communities across our state to free, hands-on introductory training. From learning basic trade skills to navigating apprenticeship applications, building resumes, securing reference letters, and sharpening interview skills, we’ve supported Alaskans every step of the way on their career journeys.

We’re incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and even more excited about what’s ahead. Here’s to continuing to open doors, create opportunities, and strengthen Alaska’s workforce for years to come.
