Get hands-on exposure to skills used in the telecommunications industry, including:

Alaska Works Partnership is offering a FREE Electrical Wiring Workshop September 21–23 in Anchorage in partnership with the Alaska Electrical Apprenticeship.

During this hands-on workshop, you'll:

🧰 Practice using electrical tools and equipment
🔌 Learn proper wire splicing techniques
💡 Wire standard, 3-way & 4-way switches
🔌 Install and wire receptacles
⚡ Build functional circuits using switches, lights & receptacles

The 2026–2027 SMART International Scholarship application period opens September 1! Scholarships are available to eligible active union members, covered employees, and their dependent spouses or children under age 25 who are enrolled or accepted as full-time students at an accredited college or university.

Awards include multi-year scholarships of up to $6,000 per year, along with several one-year scholarships. Applications will be accepted from September 1 through February 15.

Our FREE Power Tools Evening Training is coming up September 21–October 2 in Anchorage!

Get hands-on experience while learning:

📏 Measuring & accurate layout

🪛 Woodworking and project building
🛠️ A variety of tools used in the industry

You'll put those skills to work by building take-home woodworking projects along the way.
