🫁 PULMONARY EMBOLISM 🫁

Is a condition in which one or more of the arteries in the lungs becomes blocked by a blood clot.
Most of the time, a pulmonary embolism stems from lower extremity blood clots.

🟡A pulmonary embolism can be life threatening if left untreated and is usually treatable if seemed with immediate medical attention.

🔷SYMPTOMS 🔷
>coughing
>shortness of breath
>chest pain
>rapid or irregular heart beat
>fever
>excessive sweating
>leg pain and or swelling
( best noted to seek immediate medical attention if you experience unexplained shortness of breath or chest pain )

🔺RISK FACTORS
>heart disease
>cancer
>surgery
>renal failure
>🟩TOO MUCH BED REST , SEDENTARY lifestyle , long trips or sitting for long periods of time ( desk job , flying on planes )
>smoking
>being overweight
>taking birth control

🔴PREVENTION
>compression stockings
>leg elevation
> physical activity and exercise
>IF YOU HAVE TO SIT A LONG TIME -do this 🔻🔻🔻
>drink plenty of water
>take frequent breaks from sitting and move around , bend your legs , wiggle your toes
>while sitting , continue to move your toes and ankles ( have fidgety legs )

❤️ HEART FAILURE❤️ is very very broad and in-depth subject that not even 10 posts can cover , so I will just go over the basics of it.

Heart failure is the progression of damage to any of the layers of muscle in the heart , or arteries such as hypertension , myocardial infarction to name a couple , and results in the heart becoming less efficient at pumping enough blood to supply the bodies needs.
The heart can either become to week to pump blood , called systolic heart failure or unable to fill with blood adequately, called diastolic heart failure.

A sum of symptoms from the pathophysiology of heart disease leads to congestive heart failure.

Heart failure doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a progressive disease that slowly gets worse over time 😞

Heart failure is fairly common. Roughly 6.5 million people over the age of 20 have heart failure
It makes up about 35% of all cardiac related deaths and heart disease itself is the number one killer in the United States.

🔺The shoulder 🔺

🔹The acromioclavicular joint, glenohumeral joint, scapula, clavicle and humerus all make up the skeletal anatomy of the shoulder and a variety of different muscles , ligaments and tendons. 🔹

❇️The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the entire body , which makes it very unstable.
It can exert flexion , extension , abduction, addiction , internal rotation , external rotation. And 360* degree circumduction in the sagittal plane. ❇️
Which makes it the most injury prone region of the body. Up near 70% of people will experience severe shoulder pain or injury in their lifetime. Sometimes if severe , can lead to osteoarthritis , tendon tears, tendinitis and bursitis , to name a few. ✳️
Having a hurt shoulder can disrupt sleep, make working uncomfortable or unbearable, limit or crease mobility and motion. And unfortunately most people when they experience this pain , they stay away from using their shoulder at all. Which is the complete opposite of what is recommended to do.
I have many clients that have experienced shoulder pain or immobility for years , some even for decades , and when following the correct rehabilitative exercise program and focus on having total body awareness , they’ve all seen vast improvements in the health of their shoulder, as I do not “ baby” any injuries. ✅✅

❤️HYPERTENSION ❤️

✳️Hypertension, AKA high blood pressure , is a condition in which the force of blood against your artery walls is too high.
❣️Normal blood pressure range is 120/80 and stage 1 Hypertension behind at 140/90.
❇️What causes Hypertension ?
1. Weight
2. Nutritional choices ( too much sodium in diet )
3. Race
4. Not enough physical exercise
(You also have secondary Hypertension that is the result of a preexisting condition such as
1. Obstructive sleep apnea
2.kidney disease
3. Thyroid dysfunctions
4. Medications
5. Use of particular illegal drugs such as co***ne and amphetamine.

💟ITS CURABLE 💟
By implementing healthier lifestyle choices such as pattering in an exercise program , being on a controlled diet, getting adequate sleep, keeping stress to a minimum.
✳️There is also hypertension medications , but should be a last resort if your hypertension is “self induced “ , AFTER controlling the causes that lead you to have Hypertension and it is still not effective , would medication be a viable option.

❇️JOINT❇️ MOBILITY VS. STABILITY

🚹 Joint mobility is is a joints ability to move freely and easily. Think of your shoulder , you can move it side to side , up and down , front and back your shoulder is a very MOBILE joint. The drawback is when an area is as mobile as your glenohumeral joint ( shoulder ) it is not very STABLE. Meaning it can injure much easier because it can move so freely. 🚹

♿️STABILITY♿️ Joint stability is the ability for the joint to maintain postural equilibrium ( keep aligned ) during movement and not move so freely. Your elbow is a good example. Moves in very limitation direction , as it is kept stable , and when your elbow is able to “ move” in multiple directions, it is because of the MOBILITY of your shoulder joint. Your elbow has more stability than mobility.

✳️fun way to think about it ✳️
Something STABLE doesn’t go everywhere (. Your friend who’s been at the same house and job for 20 years, a very stable person) ➡️🌀JOINT STABILITY

⏩Where as your very MOBILE friend , the one who seems to have a different job every 3 months and had a new relationship once a year , isn’t very STABLE , as they move around quite often.

♦️PIRIFORMIS SYNDROME ♦️

Piriformis Syndrome occurs with the pirformis muscle irritates the sciatic nerve and causes pain, numbness or weakness along the back side of the leg, buttocks and foot.

It’s a type of body fat that’s stored within the abdominal cavity. It’s actually located near several vital organs , such as the liver , stomach and intestines. Visceral fat can also build up in the arteries.

Visceral fat , when analyzed is in a scale of 1-59, with 13 and below being the healthy range.
