APU Outdoor Programs

Come down to the basement of Atwood Center and check out the Outdoor Programs rock wall, weight room, and equipment room! Check us out!

We have alot of gear to set you up for your next outdoor adventure! We will be open May 3-Aug 20th Mon-Fri 11-6. We also provide instructional and guided trips. If you are interested in learning how to packraft, whitewater kayak, sea kayak, stand up paddleboard, backpack, rock climb, ski, snowboard, or be awesome, we have certified and knowledgeable instructors to help you learn in a safe and fun manner! Contact us for information on trips, dates, or custom trips.

Due to warmer weather and low attendance, we will cancel our open boating 5/28. Spread the words. Open boating will return this fall of 2026. We will keep you posted! Be safe and have fun!

Updated hours.

We are open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays from 10 A.M to 6 P.M
Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 A.M to 4 P.M.

We are closed on Tuedays and Fridays from 4 to 6 P.M, Memorial day 5/25, Juneteeth 6/19, and July 4th (closed on July 3rd).

We have open boating tonight 4/30 at Moseley Sports Center 7:30-9. We will not hosting rolling or sea kayak rescue clinics until further notice. They will be most likely be offered in the fall of 2026.
May will be the last month for open boating sessions!

We soft launched our archery program with our APU students! We look forward to adding this as part of our regular recreational activity for our APU community. Stay tuned 🫶!

Our 2026 Gear Swap event is happening today from 10-1 PM! You can still drop your gear off before hand. Come check us out and gear up for the rest of the year!

We are getting ready for an additional recreational program on APU campus- Archery!

Thank you to our APU student from the Outdoor Studies department-Recreational Design Program class, James Robinson, for putting these beautiful target stands together. We are excited to “fire up” this activity next week!
