It's Friday, and what better way to kick off the weekend than with some incredible news about one of our outstanding faculty members? Congratulations, Dr. Trujillo! 🎉

🌟 We’re proud to share that Dr. Angelia Trujillo, professor in the School of Nursing, was recently inducted into the Alaska Nurses Association (AaNA) Hall of Fame for her outstanding dedication to the profession of nursing.

In addition to being a professor, Dr. Trujillo is a practicing Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and the founder of the Alaska Comprehensive Forensic Training Academy, which advances education, research, and service for those caring for victims of violence. She has also led continuing education efforts for AaNA since 2013, growing the program from a single staff member into a statewide team delivering high‑quality professional development for Alaska’s nurses.

“I am deeply honored and sincerely flattered to receive this award and to highlight the remarkable efforts of our team,” said Dr. Trujillo. “High-quality continuing education remains the cornerstone of nursing excellence – from our newest graduates building foundational confidence to our most seasoned professionals advancing their expertise. Each meaningful learning opportunity exemplifies the dedication, innovation, and collaborative vision of our nurse planner team, whose work continually strengthens and elevates our profession.”

Dr. Trujillo’s induction honors her extraordinary contributions to the field of nursing in Alaska. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved award! 🏆👏
