The first cohort of the Arctic Indigenous Exchange Program (AIEP) is open and accepting applications through April 12! ❄️
AIEP brings together groups of 12-15 Indigenous community members, leaders, and professionals, for exchanges across Alaska, Canada and Greenland. The U.S. Department of State is the program sponsor. The goal is to explore areas of regional cooperation across the Arctic. This upcoming AIEP exchange will take place May to August 2026.

ARCYF is the only paid, multi-nation Arctic fellowship of its kind—uniting Arctic youth to lead, collaborate, and build a more resilient future. Institute of the North envisions an Arctic future shaped by Arctic voices.

Arctic Resilient Communities Youth Fellowship - Institute of the North Through a series of online workshops, fellows will engage in inter-regional community-based research where they will navigate the intersection of Western science and Indigenous knowledge to address the impacts of climate change in Arctic communities.

Arctic & Sub-Arctic youth from Canada, Greenland, and Alaska are invited to join fellows 18-30 years old to:
- Represent your community
- Exchange methods on harvesting and the harvest economy
- Engage with knowledge holders from across the Arctic
- Design and complete a community based project
- Receive a monthly stipend ($250 USD)
You will also travel to Denedeh, in Northwest Territories, Canada for a land-based workshop in March 2026.
Deadline to apply is December 19th, 2025 at 8pm EST.
