Honored to have collaborated with Senator Wielechowski on vital childcare regulation reform! Our joint efforts have successfully aligned Anchorage staffing ratios with state standards, resulting in 4 additional infant spots at LMMA and nearly doubling our MCCA after-school care. The childcare capacity crisis in our city calls for action, and by advocating for regulatory reform (costing us nothing) we’re empowering Anchorage childcare centers to safely welcome more children. I'm eager to keep pushing for enhanced childcare access for working families!

Last year I met with Dr. Jessica Parker, Superintendent of Mountain City Christian Academy. They, and other child care providers, wanted to provide more child care services but were running into regulatory issues because state and municipal laws conflicted. I was happy to assist them as they worked through the process.

It was good to see Dr. Parker in Juneau along with her husband Jeremy and Pamela King and hear about their child care successes and explore ways we can help make child care more accessible.
