Vibrant Minds Charter School believes:

* Teaching and learning are most effective when the focus is on each scholar’s strengths and talents rather than deficits.

* To engage each scholar’s strengths, the scholar-to-adult ratio is small, and the use of mentors in a variety of areas is standard practice.

* Character is refined through self-awareness, acceptance of others, and service to the co

mmunity.

* It takes a village to raise a child, and the development of a network of support
including the home, school, and community is vital.

* A scholar in the elementary school setting that makes inappropriate choices needs guidance rather than punishment or exclusion.

At Vibrant Minds Charter School, we believe scholars thrive when they're challenged academically, encouraged creatively, and supported as individuals. Here's what that looks like:

At Vibrant Minds Charter School, we believe learning begins with curiosity. As scholars discover new interests, build meaningful relationships, and gain confidence in themselves, they begin transforming interests into strengths.

Learning at VMCS

At Vibrant Minds, learning begins with asking questions.

Scholars take an idea, explore it, build, adjust, and revise their work through hands-on projects and collaboration.

They stay with these projects over time, continuing to develop and shape them. Eventually, that work is brought together and shared with the school community. Families, staff, and other scholars are able to see what they've been working on and recognize their progress.

In this way, scholars learn how to develop ideas, see projects through to completion, and experience what it means to be celebrated for their work.

What is Vibrant Minds Charter School?

We are a proudly independent, TK–6th grade public charter school in Central Anaheim, built on a “mom and pop” model: intentionally small, single-site, and not part of a district or larger network.

What makes us different?

✔ Our school model is co-created by our scholars, staff, and families

✔ A small school community where scholars are known and supported over time

✔ A strengths-based approach that starts with identifying each scholar’s talents

✔ Interests are developed into strengths through mentorship, projects, and continued exploration

While we have been encouraged to start more charter schools under the VMCS banner by charter school proponents, we won't. We remain a single site, grassroots charter school that gives our all to the scholars and families we serve.

By this stage, many students are already settled — but not every situation looks the same.

Some families have moved.
Some are realizing their current school just isn’t the right fit.

Vibrant Minds is a small, community-centered public charter school in Central Anaheim, where each scholar is known by name and supported in transforming their interests into strengths.

A brand new campus is currently in development, with exciting plans ahead for our growing school community.
