UPDATE ‼️ LOCATED - Thank you to everyone who shared, commented, and called with information about Maritza Ortega, who went missing Wednesday night. She has been safely located and reunited with her family.

Officers are currently searching for 32-year-old Maritza Ortega, who went missing last night in the area of Jackson Street and Hazard Avenue.

Maritza is autistic, has the cognitive capacity of a 12-year-old, is partially nonverbal, and is hard of hearing. She was last seen wearing all black clothing and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the SAPD Watch Commander at (714) 245-8700

Effective 5/22/26, a mandatory evacuation order has been issued in areas of the City of Buena Park by Ball Rd. to Trask Ave. and Valley View St. to Dale St. due to a chemical spill in Garden Grove. Residents in the Girl Tract are urged to leave the area immediately and follow directions from emergency personnel. Residents needing a safe location may go to the Ehlers Community Center - 8150 Knott Ave.
