The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it ga

ined its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. NAWIC has a diverse membership and more than 150 chapters, with chapters in almost every U.S. Since 1996, NAWIC has seen its Core Purpose grow worldwide and has International Affiliation Agreements with the Canadian Association of Women in Construction, NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, NAWIC-United Kingdom and South African Women in Construction. In NAWIC’s 58 years of service to its membership, the Association has advanced the causes of all women in construction, from tradeswomen to business owners. NAWIC Orange County is getting ready to celebrate our 2026-2027 Board Installation on September 1, 2026, and we are inviting companies and industry partners to be part of the evening as event sponsors.

NAWIC’s mission is rooted in advancing women in construction through education, professional development, leadership opportunities, and meaningful industry connections. Sponsorships help our chapter continue creating those opportunities locally while recognizing the women who step forward to lead.

Last month, we welcomed students to Camp NAWIC 2026 for a day of hands on learning, career exploration, and a closer look at the many opportunities a future in construction can offer. 👷‍♀️🛠️

NAWIC Orange County is preparing for an exciting 2026 to 2027 chapter year! 🧡

Our planning meeting brought together our board and chapter members to discuss upcoming programs, events, member experiences, and new ways to serve women in construction throughout Orange County.

A special thank you to Elljay Acoustics, Inc. for generously allowing us to use their space for our meeting. We truly appreciate the hospitality and support.

NAWIC Orange County is proud to partner with Thomas House Family Shelter for an upcoming evening of connection, good food, and giving back.

We invite our members and community to join us as we serve supper, share smiles, and support families on their journey toward self-sufficiency.

TODAY IS THE DAY! ✨

Camp NAWIC 2026 has officially kicked off at the Associated Builders and Contractors of Southern California Training Center! We are so excited to welcome this group of high school girls for a week of hands-on learning in the construction trades. 👷‍♀️🔨

The countdown is on! In just three days, the ABC SoCal Training Center will be buzzing with the next generation of builders. We are officially in the "behind-the-scenes" phase for Camp NAWIC 2026, and the energy is already building.

Our Camp NAWIC coming has been hard at work transforming the classroom into a hands-on learning lab where future industry leaders will get their first taste of the trades. From organizing the workbenches to setting up the safety gear, every detail is being handled with the precision and care that defines our industry. 🏗

At NAWIC OC, we believe that strength and compassion fit perfectly under the same hard hat. This camp is about more than just skills; it’s about building confidence and showing these young women that workboots always fit the dress code.

A special thank you to our sponsors and ABC SoCal for being incredible partners and providing such a top-tier space for our campers. We can't wait to see these tables filled with future architects, engineers, and tradeswomen!
