Congratulations to Cypress High School senior Akshaya Karthik, who recently represented her community in the Distinguished Young Women of California Scholarship Program! 🎉

Akshaya earned a $500 Be Your Best Self Essay Scholarship, recognizing her character, ambition, responsibility, involvement, and commitment to being her best self.

Reflecting on the experience, Akshaya shared that the greatest reward was the friendships and memories she made along the way.

Unlimited You Series: Sycamore Legacy Mural

We’re excited to launch the Unlimited You Series, a new districtwide storytelling series celebrating the students, staff, alumni, families, and community members who make AUHSD extraordinary. Through authentic stories of character, perseverance, kindness, leadership, creativity, and impact, the series will also highlight the people and opportunities within AUHSD that help shape each journey.

Our pilot episode brings the series full circle at Sycamore Junior High School, where alumnus and artist Oliver Cortez Velasquez joins fellow Sycamore alum and AUHSD Board President Jessica Guerrero to share the story and meaning behind the Sycamore Legacy Mural—a vibrant reflection of the school community’s past, present, and future. The episode was created by Ronnie Galang, also a Sycamore alumnus, making this first story a fitting celebration of legacy, community, and the Unlimited potential of our students long after they leave our schools.
