Kinder Campout

Spent the last two days learning ALL THE THINGS! Met with some of the most creative educators. Feeling extremely inspired after this weekend!

Yesterday was my official first day of baby bonding. I will be taking a much needed break to spend with Benji. I will be a full-time mommy until January. ⁣

I’m so excited, but also sad to not be with my students at the same time. Teacher guilt is so real! ⁣

It’s been so long since I’ve been active on here, but it’s been all for good reasons. 2021 has been an amazing & busy year for me.⁣

Here is the life update: ⁣

1. I got married. We eloped & I couldn’t have been more perfect. Exactly the way I’ve always wanted to do it. ⁣
⁣
2. We bought a house! We had been looking for almost a year & we finally were able to call a house a home. ⁣
⁣
3. We added a new edition to our family. We had a baby boy, Benjamin Ellis. ⁣

Let’s talk calendar routine. ⁣

Yesterday, I showed my new partners how to teach morning calendar. It’s amazing how many bits and pieces there are to this simple routinely task. ⁣

In my opinion, it’s probably the most important part of my students day! They learn so much information during this time. ⁣
⁣
It has taken me years to perfect my routine. When starting out as a new kindergarten teacher, I kept hearing about “calendar”. I searched and searched for demo lessons on what it would looks like. I finally have a routine that my students and I both love. ⁣

A lots of you asked what my bulletin board looked like that displayed my student badges. Here it is! ⁣

I’m so glad that I found this picture to show you all! I found the vest silhouette on the . Each vest is individualized. The students are able to “pin” their merit badges at the end of the month once they achieve their goals. ⁣

Their favorite part is putting the badge on their vest. They are so proud! ⁣
