We are so proud to celebrate two outstanding members of our physical therapy program who have been recognized at the Seton Hall Faculty Excellence Awards! First, we congratulate Dr. Lorene Cobb on being named Teacher of the Year, a reflection of her dedication, passion and unwavering commitment to student success. We also celebrate our Dr. Claudia Acosta who earned Adjunct of the Year, recognizing her outstanding contributions and positive impact. What makes these achievements even more remarkable is that both were not only honored at the school level, but also recognized at the ceremony as the University wide winners of these awards. This is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to the excellence within the physical therapy program!

Hands-on learning hits different when it’s real. 🧠💪
1st year students had the opportunity to work with 2 traumatic brain injury cases in class! Applying our skills in real time and adapting interventions on the spot are key for our educational experience. Moments like this remind us that PT school isn’t just about studying, it’s about learning how to think, adjust, and truly care for the person in front of you.

Integumentary lab 🧬
Practicing wound debridement techniques on pig feet to simulate real tissue! As physical therapists, wound care is within our scope of practice, and learning how to safely remove non-viable tissue helps promote healing, reduce infection risk, and improve function for our patients. The more we practice now, the better care we can provide later.

CSM 2026 understood the assignment.
We showed up ready to learn, started great conversations, made meaningful connections, and brought a little personality along the way.
See you next year in Philly!

BABY DAY 👶🏻🍼
Play and creativity are KEY in pediatric physical therapy, helping children stay engaged while supporting natural movement and motor learning. Our 2nd year students administered tools like the AIMS, ELAP, and Peabody to assess motor development, identify delays, and track progress, making therapy both fun and evidence-based!
Thank you Dr. Cobb for such a fun filled day! Special thank you to all the babies & parents who volunteered their time to help our students learn, grow, and gain valuable hands on experience in pediatric care! 🩵🩷

Our 2nd year students had the privilege to visit Kessler Rehabilitation Institute in West Orange, NJ! Kessler is ranked among the top rehabilitation hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Their 2025–2026 ranking lists them at #4 nationally for inpatient rehabilitation! 🧠
Observing real world clinical scenarios and rehabilitation facilities provides student physical therapists the opportunity to see how theoretical concepts translate into actual patient care. It helps them understand clinical reasoning, treatment progression, interdisciplinary teamwork, and the practical challenges patients face during recovery. These experiences build clinical confidence, improve decision making, and deepen their understanding of how evidence based practice is applied in diverse situations.
Thank you Dr. Snowdon for another amazing ICE experience, and thank you Kessler Rehab for allowing our students to observe your facility! 🟢⚫️⚪️

Prosthetics patient encounter!🦿🦾
Our students put their knowledge into action with today’s AMPPRO assessments on prosthetic patients! AMPPRO is a mobility assessment that measures balance, gait, transfers, and functional skills in lower limb amputees. Every score helps us understand mobility levels and guide prosthetic rehab.
Huge thank you to Chris & Joan for graciously letting our students apply their knowledge to real world situations. Your trust and participation mean the world to us!
Special thank you to our wonderful professors for putting together an amazing learning experience! 🙏🏻
