Richard "Dick" LaRochelle Sr. - Class of 1966

It is with sadness and an extreme heavy heart that I post, my Dad, Richard “Dick” LaRochelle Sr. passed away yesterday (May 8, 2026) in Texas. It was 9 months to the day that my mom passed away (August 8, 2025) so I believe my dad died of a broken heart because he missed my mom so much he was ready to leave this earth and be with her in God’s heavenly kingdom. He was a great dad, husband, son, grandpa, great grandpa and father-in-law. Most of all he was a great man and role model!!!! He taught me so much in life and instilled in me a strong work ethic and duty to serve.

I’m very proud of my dad and everything he accomplished in life and for his dedication to service to this country, the City of Anaheim and for his unconditional and unwavering love for his family!!! He was a true patriot and served two tours in Vietnam in the Navy on the U.S.S. Virgo. He later served as a Reserve Policeman with the Placentia and Brea Police Departments. He then worked 30 years for the City of Anaheim beginning in Public Works/Street Maintenance, then in Forensics at the PD and finally over two decades in Code Enforcement before retiring and moving to Texas.

PLEASE send you checks ASAP as the committee will be paying upfront money for deposits and other expenses. All reservations must be received by September 4, 2026. After 9/4 the cost will be $125 at the door.

May 3rd update of 60th reunion. 45 yes, and $2500 received. BOJ ( Bank of Judy) cashed checks the other day. Mine has cleared. Name 2 classmates you like to see attend. Bob Herrick and Tom Harpole, COME ON DOWN!!

Update on 60th reunion attendees. As of this weekend we've got 36 yes's, 15 No's and $1900 collected. Judy Ohanian will be cashing those checks very soon. RIGHT Judy?
