From competitive events and workshops to Disneyland and networking with other students, our record number of Business Magnet students who attended the DECA State Career Development Conference had a blast this weekend in Anaheim! Congratulations to all the competitors who went to DECA SCDC to develop their business skills and personal networks. And, of course, congratulations to our 4 finalists Sharlene Li, Robert Thornton, Riley Tsai, and Emily Zimmerman and our medalist Sharlene Li for your amazing accomplishments in your respective events! JSerra also earned 2 spots at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta this spring through our community service and promotional campaigns. See you at ICDC 2026! đź”·

Next week, the Business Magnet will host a candy grams fundraiser supporting Collette’s Children’s Home, which provides homeless women and children with a safe environment and resources to achieve self-sufficiency. You can help support this cause by stopping by the Business Magnet table during both lunches Monday-Wednesday next week (2/9-2/11) to purchase candy grams to send to your friends, valentine, or teachers, or to buy some treats to enjoy at lunch! Cash will be the only form of payment accepted during lunch (due to the no phone policy), but you can use Venmo after school to order a candy gram for someone else. All orders paid by Venmo must be placed in-person during lunch and will remain pending until we receive the Venmo payment after school. All candy grams will be delivered during 3rd period on Thursday (2/12).

Join the Business Magnet this Tuesday (2/3) from 3:05-4:05 PM in Mr. Galonsky’s room to make Valentine’s Day cards for hospitalized children. One service hour can be earned and snacks will be provided. NHS students are also welcome to use this time and the Magnet’s supplies to make their required Valentine’s Day cards. See you there!

At the DECA SoCal Career Development Conference, JSerra students had the opportunity to network with business-minded students from other schools, attend career development workshops, and bring home some awards for our chapter! Congratulations to all JSerra Business Magnet students who attended the conference and to the 15 students who won awards across almost all of the career clusters! We are so excited to see what our students accomplish at the California State Career Development Conference in February!
