Our Guemes Island home, located in the San Juan Islands. We started working on it right after getting married 15 years ago. Much of it we did ourselves.
Learn more about our home's story in the about section. Currently it is also up for sale, learn more.

Free water!
Well, our home has a private well we paid a lot up front for it to be drilled, pad poured, and a high quality system to be installed. To save on costs we built the well house ourselves.
Though the filter system was expensive, we're happy we bought a quality system that has great water. Plus in the storage tank we've always got an additional 500 gallons of fresh water in case the power goes out after a storm. In sum, all is well.
Our private well is in a small well house that we matched design to the main house. Around the corner we added an extra day room where there's space for a separate office.
Here's a view of a fog bank rolling down the Guemes Channel yesterday. There's a tiny fery boat somewhere out there.

A storage shed when you live on an acreage is very useful. Here's a picture of one we have onsite. It gives us a little under 60 sq ft of extra space. Very useful we've found.

Crabbing season is open. Yay!
Crabbing is great right off of Guemes Island. We go down to the public beaches and tidelands. Paddle out. Drop the traps. Wait. Catch. Eat and eat and eat and eat. ๐
Just over the hill take a peek at the woods in this 360ยบ interactive video. Look up, lot's of fir and cedar trees. Enjoy.
