A huge thank you to all of the businesses, organizations, and individuals who donated door prizes for our Back-to-School Convocation. Your generosity helped make the day even more special for our teachers and staff.

What a great way to kick off the 2026-2027 school year!

It was such a blessing to have our entire Amory School District family back together for our Back-to-School Convocation. The energy, excitement, and fellowship were a great reminder of what makes our district so special. This was the first time in three years that we've been able to gather everyone together for this event, and it made the day even more meaningful.

We are incredibly grateful to First Assembly Church for graciously opening the doors of their beautiful facilities and allowing us to host both our fellowship breakfast and convocation. A special thank you to Pastor Justin Myers for sharing such a wonderful and encouraging message. It was the perfect way to begin the school year and a meaningful reminder of the purpose behind the work we do each day.

A heartfelt thank you to Broaddus & Associates for generously sponsoring our breakfast, and to Leisa Howell and Pam Sullivan for preparing a delicious meal, with help from Derrick Maranto. Your generosity, hospitality, and willingness to serve helped make the morning a tremendous success.

As we begin a new school year, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and the impact we will make together. We are ready to Forge The Gold Standard for our students, our schools, and our community.

As we prepare for an exciting new school year, the Amory School District administrative team spent the past two days collaborating, planning, and preparing for the year ahead. It was a productive two days filled with meaningful conversations, thoughtful planning, and a shared commitment to providing the very best experience for our students, faculty, and staff. We are excited about what lies ahead!

A special thank you to Wes Boock with State Farm Insurance, Modern Woodmen of America, and Educational Material Specialists for generously sponsoring our meals during these meetings. We also extend our sincere appreciation to The Coffee Pot in Amory and Leisa Howell for providing outstanding catering. As we prepare for a new school year, we want to share an important update regarding statewide attendance policies. The Mississippi Legislature recently passed updates to the Mississippi Compulsory School Attendance Law (Mississippi Code § 37-13-91). Because this is a state mandate, all public school districts across Mississippi are required to adopt these new guidelines.

We encourage all parents and guardians to take a few moments to review this graphic carefully so you feel confident about how absences will be handled moving forward.
