The past two weeks kept two FFA families and their advisor hopping at the MO State Fair.
Brayden Nieder showed in the barrow show and also showed a heifer in the Red Angus show, winning a Reserve Division. Freshmen member Lawson Nieder won a division with his Maine heifer.
We would also like to congratulate Lawson’s sister Myla Nieder, and Stetson Curtis of Archie, Missouri for being selected for the elite top 5 in the supreme heifer shootout.

"First week of John Deere Tech at Fort Scott Community College is in the books. It’s been a great start. Crazy second day of college with the school having no power. We were sent home after an hour and a half, but I went to my dealership in Adrian and worked the rest of the day. Looking forward to a great school year. Senior and Chapter Secretary Paige Fairbairn clerks out a customer at Waters Hardware in Drexel on Saturday. Waters Hardware is one of two jobs Paige has held down this summer.
At Waters Paige assists customers, maintain store displays and helps with inventory management.
Other exciting news this week is Paige signed with the Air Force!

Another great visit with a graduate!
Peyton McConnell is completing an internship at Heritage Tractor in Adrian. I caught him today blading the facility; cleaning it up before the rain we hope to get.
Peyton will be attending the John Deere tech program in Fort Scott starting August 17th.

Had a great visit this morning with graduate and past chapter president Ethan Vaughn.
Ethan is employed with Briarwood Farms and according to Farm manager Dave Warfield, Ethan is going to be hard to replace when he goes off to college in a month. We spent the morning checking and feeding replacement heifers and bull prospects.

It’s inevitable when it’s county fair week it’s going to be extremely warm and this year was no different. But by all accounts, the Bates County fair was a huge success for its exhibitors.
Chapter President and Junior Brayden Nieder exhibited his Red Angus heifer. Brayden was also given the nod for champion beef showman, and placed third in the Stockman contest. Incoming freshman and FFA member Lawson Nieder had the reserve grand market animal with his market heifer.
Appreciate all the volunteers who make that fair possible
