The Piano Gallery family suffered a terrible loss yesterday. We are sad to announce that our beloved tuner Jerry Clark was involved in a car accident and passed away. We have enjoyed Jerry's warm smile and amazing talents. His over 30 years of experience in piano tuning and repair simply cannot be replaced. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends. He was not just a great tuner but also a very kind, charitable man. He dedicated his life to serving the people of East Idaho, tuning pianos to perfection. When we needed an emergency tuning for an event or a customer he was always willing to come in early or stay late to help and he never charged extra for the inconvenience. His honesty and integrity will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed in the music community.❤️

MEET OUR NEW CELLO TEACHER!

Sebastian Fraser has been playing the cello for thirteen years. He started learning the cello in Las Vegas, Nevada under the mentorship of Jeremy Woolstenhulme. After learning and progressing from Woolstenhulme’s teachings he studied at Las Vegas’s premier arts school, Las Vegas Academy and began taking lessons from Las Vegas Philharmonic’s principal cellist and UNLV’s professor of cello, Dr. Andrew Smith. During his high school career in Las Vegas, he was a member of the Las Vegas Youth Philharmonic, Nevada All State Orchestra, and a state finalist in the Nevada Solo and Ensemble competition. He finished high school in Boise, ID where he studied with Dr. Brian Hodges of Boise State University. He was the winner of the Idaho State Solo and Ensemble competition and was the principal cellist of the Boise Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He was a cellist in the Idaho All State Orchestra and All Northwest Orchestra as well.

While in his studies at Brigham Young University-Idaho he was the principal cellist of the BYU-Idaho Symphony for many semesters. He had the pleasure of studying with Dr. Robert Tueller and expanded his knowledge of cello performance in traditional cello studies and early music studies on Baroque cello and viola da gamba. He was a finalist in the Idaho Falls Symphony Young Artist Competition, the Idaho Civic Symphony Young Artist Competition and a two time finalist in the BYU-Idaho concerto competition. He has participated in masterclasses and lessons with Carlos Prieto, Joshua Roman, Steven Doane, Jennifer Culp, Ralph Kirshbaum, and Thomas Landschoot. Recently, Sebastian graduated with his Bachelor Degree in Music with an emphasis in cello performance from Brigham Young University-Idaho. He currently resides in Idaho Falls, teaches his cello students, plays cello in a improvisational folk rock band called Pioneer47 and is a member of the cello section in the Idaho Falls Symphony.
