🌿📖 **One School, One Book begins September 7!**

This year, Monticello Montessori families will read *The Secret Garden* together. Follow the reading calendar throughout September as we discover the story one chapter at a time.

We’ll conclude our shared reading adventure with a **Family Movie Night on Monday, October 5 at 6:00 p.m.** Popcorn and candy will be provided! 🍿🎬

🎒 Tomorrow is the first day of school!

We’re excited to welcome students back on **Wednesday, August 26!** Here are a few important reminders:

🕗 Morning

* 8:00 a.m. — Students may arrive
* 8:07 a.m. — First bell
* 8:15 a.m. — Tardy bell

🏫 Dismissal

Students are dismissed at 3:32 p.m. To help dismissal run safely and efficiently, students will not be released between 2:30 p.m. and regular dismissal.

👕 Dress

Students should wear a solid-colored polo with solid black, khaki, or dark blue pants. Socks and appropriate indoor shoes are required.

🌟 New Faces and New Roles at Monticello Montessori

Each new school year brings positive change. This year, several familiar members of the Monticello community are stepping into new roles, and we’re delighted to welcome one new member to our team.

• Lisa Puckett and Michell Morrill — Grades 3–5 Team Teachers
• Aaron Wheeler — Grades 7–8 Teacher
• Sarah Lerma — School Counselor

For those of us who work here, seeing our school glowing green tonight means more than we can really put into words.
What started with a simple idea — one green light is enough — has grown into homes, businesses, restaurants, fire stations, schools and even people in other states showing their support.
Tonight, our little corner of Idaho Falls is green too. 💚

In this month’s letter, Administrator Jeanne Johnson welcomes our new staff members and shares a few important reminders for the beginning of the 2026–27 school year:

📚 Back-to-School Night: Monday, August 24, 5:30–7:00 pm
🏫 First day of school: Wednesday, August 26 at 8:00 am
📱 Student cell phones and smartwatches must be turned off and stored during the school day.
🚗 Students will not be released between 2:30 pm and regular dismissal.
