Our Philosophy

Our program addresses the needs of the whole child. Because children thrive in a happy, safe environment, they will receive the same affection, love, support and guidance that they receive at home. Children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs are considered the first priorities of the program. Because parents are the most important people in a young child’s life,

we strive to encourage family involvement in the program, so the child can feel a close bond between home and center. All children are encouraged to develop their own personality, thoughts, opinions, ambitions, and to express these ideas comfortably and freely. We provide an environment where these individualities and differences are realized. Young children have a great thirst for knowledge that needs so be provided at each individual’s level of understanding. Every child, regardless of race, s*x, religion, or handicap has the same advantages and opportunities. Children have the right to develop to their maximum potential in all areas of development and to progress at their own pace and according to their own needs. To encourage healthy self-image and worth, we strive to foster confidence, value, and pride.

Today we made mini pumpkin muffins! Of course, we couldn’t just add the ingredients. We had to smell EVERYTHING first. Every ingredient needed a proper inspection! Then came the very important experiment: How high can Miss Crystal crack an egg and how big of a splash will it make?

We measured, mixed, scooped, made predictions, and practiced counting to 12 in Spanish as we filled our muffin pan. And because everything is better with a little cinnamon sugar on top, we added that too....... measured with our hearts of course!

A little baking, a little science, a little Spanish, and a whole lot of fun!

A busy day full of learning, exploring, and play in the Woodlands Classroom! The kids practiced their balance skills, worked on fine motor activities, enjoyed building and creating, explored some new materials, and spent plenty of time outside.

From imaginative play and construction to art, movement, and hands on discovery, there was something for everyone today!

Today was full of hands on learning and fun! We explored our new bug toys, played a memory matching game with Miss Cassie, and worked carefully on mosaic sticker art. We also headed to the kitchen to make a special kiddo request: Miss Crystal’s Apple Mud Cake! We mixed, measured, added plenty of apples, and of course couldn’t forget the most important ingredient...... the “mud” (chocolate chips)! A busy morning of creating, learning, and making something delicious together.

Our little gardeners have been busy! Yesterday, the children checked our cucumber plant to see what was ready to harvest and what might be ready later. So far this one hardworking plant has given us 6 cucumbers, with at least 6 more still growing! There was plenty of excitement as everyone took a turn inspecting, picking, and checking on our growing garden. Nothing beats learning when you can grow it, pick it, and hold it in your own hands!

These sticker by number books have quickly become a favorite around the center! The children have been so focused as they search for the right pieces, match numbers and letters, and carefully build their pictures one sticker at a time. It’s a fun activity that sneaks in plenty of fine motor practice, matching, number and letter recognition, patience, and problem solving along the way!

Some of our friends brought in fresh peas to share today! The children had so much fun snapping open their own pea pods and discovering the little peas hiding inside before enjoying them for snack. We even paired our hands on experience with the book Little Pea for a fun story to go along with our snack. A big thank you to our friends for sharing their fresh garden harvest with the whole center!

The whole center had a colorful morning as we continued celebrating Jungle Month! Our little artists used watercolors to create their own bright and beautiful parrots. Painting is always a favorite and a great way to practice fine motor skills, creativity, and selfexpression. And because creating can get a little messy, our helpers jumped right in afterward to wipe down the tables. Learning to take care of our space and work together is part of the fun too!
A big thank you to everyone who has donated watercolor paints and other art supplies to our center. Your generosity helps make activities like these possible throughout all of our classrooms, and our kids certainly put those supplies to good use!

We have been LOVING these sticker by number and sticker by letter books! They’re a fun activity that keeps little hands and minds busy while working on number and letter recognition, matching, fine motor skills, and concentration.
They’ve quickly become a classroom favorite and we would love to add more to our collection! If anyone has similar sticker activity books they would like to donate, new or gently used with plenty of pages left, we would be very grateful. The kids are definitely putting them to good use! We have even added some to our Amazon list.

The kids took over the kitchen and turned snack time into a hands on cooking adventure with zucchini cake! Everyone had a chance to measure, pour, stir, and work together to make a special treat. The best part came at the end when it was time for the official taste test. Judging by all those thumbs up, we’d call it a success!
