Located at the northern edge of the UMass campus, the school serves as a teacher training site for the five college area. It also serves a diverse community of families and welcomes children who are learning to speak English as a second language. The school provides a warm, supportive atmosphere where children, teachers, and parents come together to discover and grow. The Renaissance School was established as a private, secular preschool in September 2004. The school’s roots originate from the UMass Early Childhood Laboratory School, which closed in May 2004, after a seventy one year long history. The Renaissance School continues the laboratory school’s reputation for providing high quality, cutting edge practice in the field of early childhood education. We are open Monday - Thursday 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Children may attend three or four mornings a week, and are welcome to begin anytime throughout the school year. Our program serves children aged 2.9 -5 years of age.
