This Saturday, April 18th, an anti-caste film screening and the Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration will be held. The events will be held this upcoming Saturday, and will reflect upon the life and legacy of jurist, sociologist, and constitution architect of India Dr. Br. R. Ambedkar. Two films will be screened at the College of Education (Carney Auditorium) between 9:30am to 12:30pm, followed by the Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration at 3:30pm in Du Bois Library.

Metacognition 101 is your guide to figuring out how you learn best and how to Level Up Your Learning and reach your version of academic success at UMass Amherst. In this session, you’ll pick up simple, practical tips—like how to manage your time, stay focused, and study in ways that work for you. You will also discover campus resources like tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and Academic Success Coaching, plus get advice on building a support network and using your campus tools and office hours to your advantage. Think of it as a way to hack learning with pro tips to learn smarter, stay organized, and feel confident as you navigate your new journey at UMass Amherst!

Level Up Your Time Management & Organization Skills is all about helping you stay on top of your workload without burning out. In this workshop, you will learn why procrastination happens (and how to beat it), how to set goals that are meaningful to you, and how to make study sessions more productive using simple strategies like SMART goals, combined with metacognitive study hacks and how to plan. You will also discover tools to organize your time, build a study environment that supports you, and create healthier habits—like balancing school with fun, setting boundaries, and practicing self care. Please join us for “Understanding Caste: How Caste-Based Discrimination Manifests in Academia", on Thursday, November 13, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM in Goodell Hall, Room 515, UMass Amherst campus. The training will be conducted by leading anti-caste activists, Aif Hussain and Sujata Ramteke. This session aims to raise awareness about the system of caste and to provide a critical understanding of how caste-based discrimination manifests in academic institutions.
