We are very sad to report that a long time member of our Industrial Advisory Board, Jim Beilstein, has passed away. We will miss him.

AIChE is deeply saddened to share the passing of James R. Beilstein, a dedicated leader, volunteer, and Fellow of the Institute.

Jim served on the AIChE Board of Directors from 2022–2024 and became an AIChE Fellow in 2023 in recognition of his significant contributions to the profession and to AIChE. Throughout his career and volunteer service, Jim brought a thoughtful, strategic perspective and a deep commitment to advancing chemical engineering across manufacturing, sustainability, management, and technology.

He was actively engaged across many parts of the AIChE community, including the Central Ohio Local Section, Virtual Local Section, Institute for Sustainability, Management Division, Computing & Systems Technology Division, and the Advanced Manufacturing and Processing Society.

Jim will be remembered for his leadership, mentorship, and dedication to strengthening both the profession and the people within it. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
