Following-up on Jess Hendel's piece, the AWN Alumnae Blog wants to know your solutions.

AWNword.org, an alumnae-driven blog committed to amplify the voice of Amherst women and build a stronger alumnae network, is seeking 500-1000 word posts in response to the question: "Now that Amherst has banned greek life (including sororities), what institutions do you envision could be put in place to create a more connected, inclusive, and safer campus environment?"

Please email [email protected] with your full name and class year. Please forward to individual alumnae and soon-to-be alumnae you think would have opinions on this. Let us know if you have any questions!

VERY COOL PANEL & **BRUNCH**!: "Women of Color in the Workplace". Join a dialogue with the Amherst community around topics grounded in the context of being a woman of color.

"Participants will engage in a dialogue regarding the range of circumstances that women of color face in the workplace and how they may network, acquire mentors and/or sponsors, and employ other strategies to advance professionally while staying true to themselves. Topics include but are not limited to: defining success, how to identify 'safe-spaces', balance of work and family, and how to continually set goals. "

"This blog was created as a complement to AWN’s on-campus programs. Kristin Ouellette, Conny Morrison, Andrea Park, and I (all '12s leading the AWN alumnae chapter in Boston) have been working on this for the past few months. We created this online forum with the hopes of building a more visible and active community of Amherst alumnae as well as fostering connectivity, support, communication, and networking opportunities. We hope that Amherst women of all ages, backgrounds, and perspectives will contribute to and read this blog. We would love to read your stories and opinions, so please message me here or contact anyone at the blog (see "about" for contact info) if you'd like to contribute or be involved in some way.

With AWNword, we are hoping to establish a dialogue similar to the “Room for Debate” style of opinion reporting in the New York Times. A few times a month, we will produce a general topic or question and invite submissions from anyone who identifies, or identified at one time, as an Amherst Woman. We invite alumnae to share ideas, thoughts, experiences, advice and, most of all, their voices! We welcome diverse opinions, and only require respect, grace, and equanimity in posting and commenting."
