When it comes to snow and ice management, having the right forecast at the right time can make all the difference! ❄️

At UD Maintenance, we work with professional meteorologists from trueWeather to help us stay ahead of winter weather. Their expertise helps our team better understand approaching storms, changing conditions, and what those forecasts mean for snow and ice operations.

We also look at climatology — the study of long-term weather patterns and historical averages — to help put each winter season into perspective. Climatology gives us a valuable baseline for what we might expect, while real-time forecasting helps us prepare for what’s actually coming.

As you can see from the graphic below, Avon, Ohio, where several of our sites are located, was well above the 5-, 10-, and 15-year snowfall averages last winter. That’s a great example of why looking at both climatology and current forecasts is so important when planning for winter operations.

We’ve been hearing a lot of different predictions for the 2026–2027 winter season. 👀

Thank you to everyone who came out today and made the UD Maintenance Phantom Open House a success!

We had a great day debuting the new Phantom Wing Plow and Section Pusher, seeing live equipment demonstrations, and hearing from industry professionals during a panel discussion on what’s new in snow and ice management.

We were also excited to welcome attendees and industry partners from multiple states who came out to see the latest in snow and ice equipment firsthand.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today a great event!

Our Phantom Launch Tour has officially started. After kicking things off at Storm Field Day, we are heading out to Ohio to attend UD MAINTENANCE LLC Phantom open house. We will have some Storm representatives to answer any questions and help you learn as much as possible on our new product.
